Bob Berland is an Olympic Silver Medalist, Olympic coach, Entrepreneur, CEO and inspiring charismatic speaker.

  • Bob Is a 2x Olympian in the sport of Judo and medaled in virtually every major international competition in which he competed during his career.

  • At the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Bob overcame insurmountable odds to become the first U.S. athlete ever to reach the Olympic final in Judo. His silver medal was the first awarded to a U.S. athlete and as of today is still the highest Olympic medal earned by USA Judo. To date America has yet to win gold.

  • He eventually was named the 2004 Olympic Judo team coach in Athens Greece, where he coached Jimmy Pedro to a Bronze, America's only Judo medalist of those games

  • Professionally, while Bob was training for his 2nd Olympic games he began a 15 year career as a commodities trader on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. While trading he also founded Olympic Futures in 1991, a clearing house for independent traders.

  • Today Bob is 3rd generation President of "Berland Printing" a family print and communications organization which was established in Chicago, in 1928.

  • Bob was also instrumentally involved with the City of Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid effort. He was named to Chicago 2016's Board of Directors by bid Chairman and CEO Patrick G. Ryan (Founder of AON Corporation) and was also co-chair of the athletes committee and sat on the audit committee.

  • Bob has been happily married for over 20 years, has 3 daughters and still volunteers as a community coach for his daughters sports teams.
